Types of Reviews


This review was a "Report Card Submission". We ask our customers to fill out a "report card", like the one pictured below, at the completion of every job. The star rating is an average of how the technician performed in knowledge, promptness, courtesy, ability to finish the job quickly and in one visit, clean up of the job site and overall quality of the finished work. To add transparency to our business we make these public on our website.


At the completion of every job we ask our customers to review our business on our website. Their comments are reviewed manually for inappropriate language and then posted to the website unedited.

This review was a "Telephone Submission". Often after work is completed we conduct a telephone survey to ensure complete satisfaction with the work we did. With permission, Comments from these calls are transcribed and displayed on our website.

Precision showed up on time unlike a competitor of theirs (Overhead Door of Portland) who the day before was to be at my home at 2:00 but showed up at 3:00, when I had a doctors appointment at 3:30. I did not allow Overhead to do any work.

Precision's service was great at $69.95 when Overhead quoted me $225.00 to fix the same problem. And the door is like a new door now after the great job that Precision did.

I will be using precision from now on. Not that other company in town.

Purchased a set of new wall mount openers in the fall. With the damp weather the wooden doors expanded creating a binding on the new electric eye brackets. Door was hanging up on the bracket. Brad was early for the appointment and proceeded to fix the problem in about 10 minutes by modifying the location of the brackets. Better than the original install and all at NO CHARGE! Thanks!!!

When our garage door stopped working, we looked in the phone book for a repair company. The words "OVERHEAD GARAGE DOOR SERVICE" in the ad for Precision looked like a logo I have seen on repair vehicles around town. The ad also says "No extra charge evenings & weekends," which sounded good because we were calling on a Saturday morning. Precision was able to schedule a technician for the same afternoon. Gary was prompt and professional. He explained the problem with the door (broken spring), assessed the age of the door and the wear on the other parts (rollers, cables, drums) and showed samples of the high-quality parts he had available. He gave us the option of a partial repair or complete replacement of the parts. We chose to replace the springs at this time. But we will keep an eye on the rollers and other parts, and will choose Precision when we are ready to replace them.

What originally began as a repair to our springs and cables, turned into an overhaul of all moving parts to our door and 2 new motors. We had been putting off replacement of our 30 year old single motor/double door application for years. After meeting with Gary on a Sunday morning, we decided to just bite the bullet and finally take on this project and be done with our worries once and for all. We had to purchase the wall mounted LiftMaster motors due to our specific application, but we feel confident our garage door issues are behind us. I just wish new garage door motors were a more glamorous purchase!! We are extremely happy with our decision and recommend Precision for any garage door need.

It was a very easy no hassle experience. I was able to get a very fast appointment and the installer called before hand and arrived in a timely manner. The installer came completely prepared with all the equipment needed to install two openers. He worked fast and cleaned up after the install and he even went that extra mile to tighten up all the screws on our garage doors. I was thoroughly pleased with the service. The first positive step was that Del called to tell me that he was running about 30 minutes late from the appointment time. I really appreciated knowing that!
I knew that my garage door opener had died and that I'd have to get a new one. Del confirmed that, and explained the three options for new opener systems. He thoroughly described the advantages and disadvantages, etc., of each, so I had the information I needed to make a decision.
I chose which model I wanted, and Del immediately began the installation. He explained what he was doing, the differences I'd notice with the new opener (compared to the 16-year-old one that had died), and gave me good tips about opener maintenance.
He completed the installation, cleaned up every bit of the packing material, etc., and gave me a "tour" of the new system.
Throughout, he was courteous, pleasant, helpful and efficient.
I was totally satisfied with the work he did, and love my new opener already!

A spring had broken on our garage door and both vehicles were stuck in the garage. I needed to get to work and called Precision Garage Door because the were local and rated well. In less than 30 minutes Mike was at the door ready to help. Mike did say this was a little quicker than average response time; things just worked out. In another 45 minutes the garage door was working with matching heavy duty springs. He also updated the cables, wheels and pullies so I would not find myself in the situation again any time soon. It was money I had not planned to spend - but based on the level of service it was well spent. I will add that the door now makes less noise in operation than when it was new.
